We Write to Remember

“Vision gives reason to believe you can breathe life into any seemingly hopeless circumstance that is connected to your destiny.”

It’s 14 January and some of us (okay, I) have spent those 14 days pondering what 2025 should look like.

I was proof-reading my manuscript for the umpteenth time when the sentence above jumped out at me. My own words struck a chord as if they were written by someone else.

Probably because they reminded me of how proactive vision-driven people are, and yet the reality is I can be inspired and also a little overwhelmed along the way. It’s the classic tug of war of what to prioritise, identifying what must be uniquely done by me and investing in the potential overlooked by others.

Kuningi….it’s a lot!

I keep different journals which I find very useful to review at this time of year to contrast where I’ve been, where I thought I’d be by now and where I’d like to go as I act on new information. By having something to review, I feel like the burden of holding all my thoughts and ideas together is somehow made lighter. I believe many of us make time to reflect but there’s something special about returning to a written record. It could be a few notes or several pages. One day, you’ll need to look in that proverbial mirror that holds your true reflection to re-affirm yourself in this chaotic world.

My 2025 list remains un-written and that feels okay. For now, I’ll focus on remembering the “why” and trust that the “what” and “how” will take care of themselves.

How are you feeling about your 2025 plans?
